Background:
 
We are "Leaders in Service" who fly the "Altrusa Literacy Line", as founders of the Literacy Team, now a part of our local Library System.

Meetings:
Board Meetings: 1st Wednesday of the month.
Program Meetings: 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm at Anthony's in Chula Vista.

Main Activities:
Literacy team support through the Chula Vista Library and literacy support at the YMCAs in the South Bay. Support of Casa Seguras for battered women and their children. Support for Casa de los Pobres and Casa de los Campos in Tijuana, Mexico. Support of Water for Africa with cash and shoebox personal care packages. Financial support for scholarship programs through Compact for Success. We also have an Adopt-a-Teacher program which selects four new teachers and they each receive a gift certificate to a local educational supply house to outfit their classrooms.
